Erin & Brice, Seattle, WA

We love a good June wedding and today’s feature by Five Fish Photography takes the cake! An intimate affair, Erin and Brice’s wedding is full of sweet ceremony details  and an ultra-fun tent reception. Our favorite part of their wedding has to be the bride and groom’s donation to the Special Forces Charitable Trust,  in lieu of favors. You’ll be glad you didn’t miss their beautiful day.

Get to know our vendors and venues. It’s no secret that every bride, vendor and venue has their own style. Whether you want the full beach wedding experience or country club “I do’s,” visiting our vendor webpage will help you find your match. We suggest making a “must-see” list of our talented members prior to the expo to get the most out of your time during the expo and tour. To see our member listing, please browse here.

Print out your labels. Taken from our dear friends of Brides and Weddings of Northern Virginia, we love this idea! Create printable labels with your name, address and wedding date to save time (and a hand cramp!) from re-writing your contact information all weekend.

Come hungry. The groom’s favorite part of our expo - you’ll have multiple opportunities to sample the delicious foods and treats from our members. From cakes and fancy popcorn to coastal cuisine and North Carolina style barbecue, you won’t go hungry!

Dress the part. Take it from the experts, you’ll want to be as comfortable as possible throughout the weekend. Ditch the heels and grab the flats, because it is going to be a exciting weekend of planning! The last thing you will want to worry about it how bad your feet hurt.

Know the lingo. What is Wrist Band Benefits? It is the perfect way to take advantage of discounts and deals during wedding weekend. Everyone who purchases a ticket will receive a wrist band to wear all weekend long. From hotel discounts to a free bridal hair trial, our members are offering plenty of fabulous deals during wedding weekend!

Take the tour. Not only does the Outer Banks Wedding Association host a wedding expo, but a tour too! From Corolla to Hatteras, this is the perfect opportunity to see a handful of our venues and reconnect with the members you met earlier that day in a more intimate setting. Once you pick up your registration packet, you’ll receive a full list and map of the tour stops.

Enjoy the experience. Our last and most important tip for 2015 wedding weekend and expo is to enjoy the experience! Take your time, don’t rush, and truly make a weekend out of all the events. It is sure to be a weekend packed of information, giveaways, excitement, and more!

“I met up with Shannon & Chris on Tuesday, the second day into their day, at the Elizabethan Gardens for their portrait session. There they utilized their garden passes, and even purchased some plants from the garden gift shop to take home as a remembrance of their stay.  We walked the gardens photographing their love, before finishing up with photos at the Bodie Island Lighthouse in South Nags Head.” – Courtney Hathaway Photography

“We provided a lush display of pink spray roses, cream English roses,  candle light and rustic driftwood elements to welcome the bride and groom to the Outer Banks. From the minute they walked in the door each area of the beautiful suite was filled with special touches. Pink mini orchids on White on the fireplace mantel to dramatic white orchids on the coffee table.” – Holiday House Weddings & Events
