Cayla and Brenden’s Story:

Wedding Date: May 24, 2014
Color Palette:
Ocean Blue and Green

How He Asked: While vacationing with family, Brenden and Cayla rose their bikes down to the beach to watch the sunrise. They made it just in time to the point, and Brenden got down on one knee upon their arrival. Shortly after she said, “yes” his whole family came up the river on a boat with champagne in tow.

Favorite Wedding Memories: “Watching the sunset off of the pier with my new husband was one of the best parts,” recalls Cayla. “It gave us time to talk before heading back into the reception and dance the night away!”

Advice For Future Couples Tying The Knot: “Just take every moment in! Also, make sure that someone is always taking photos, because in the end you won’t remember everything that happened!”

Jessica and Tom’s Story:

Wedding Date: May 25, 2014
Color Palette:
Whites, Neutrals, and Bold Color Accents

How He Asked: With Christmas spirit in the air, Tom scheduled a horse carriage ride along the Susquehanna River and through the city. Wrapped in blankets and sipping hot chocolate, they rode by all of Jessica’s favorite spots and toward the location where he would propose. The carriage stopped by a tree where Tom had hung an ornament earlier in the day. After Jessica had read a note hidden inside the ornament, Tom was down on one knee!

Favorite Wedding Memories:
Jessica: “Tommy sent one of the groomsmen over before the ceremony to deliver a present to me. It was a beautiful solitaire diamond necklace! I read the card next, where Tommy had written that the diamond in the necklace was the stone in the engagement ring his grandfather gave his grandmother in 1944. Luckily the makeup artist were there to retouch my makeup!”
Tom: “My favorite memory was exchanging of our vows. It was such a personal experience, and even our guests later went on and on about how special that part of the ceremony was. In that moment, it felt like we were the only two people in the world.”

Advice For Future Couples Tying The Knot: “Trust your vendors and don’t be crazy-specific. These people are pros, and if you plan every last details you’ll inevitably be disappointed when one tiny thing doesn’t go as planned. Some of our favorite memories were things that went off the plan.”

Elizabeth and Griffith’s Story:

Wedding Date: May 23, 2014
Color Palette:
White, Silver, Fuchsia

How He Asked: Since they were in a long distance relationship during the time Valentine’s Day rolled around, Griffith made plans for the following day to celebrate. Before heading to dinner, he insitied on taking Elizabeth for a glass of wine at the place where they first met. Griffith presented a Valentine’s Day card, and just as Elizabeth was reading it he got down on one knee to pop the question! After the shock and tears wore off, Elizabeth gleefully answered, “Yes!”

Favorite Wedding Memories: Two weeks prior to their “I do’s,” they booked dance glasses to learn a short routine for their first dance. They chose “Forever” by the Beach Boys (one of Elizabeth’s favorite bands growing up!) and performed it nearly flawlessly on their wedding day. All of the guest cheered and clapped in amazement of their coordinated moves.

Advice For Future Couples Tying The Knot: “Hire a wedding planner! It was the best decision I made especially since I did not live on the Outer Banks,” recalls Elizabeth. ” The entire wedding process was completely enjoyable and most importantly, stress-free!”
